Flexion/Distraction Technique (see review in "healthcare professionals" page) - a technique used to treat low back symptoms, most commonly those involving the discs of the lumbar spine. This technique provides relief for disc protrusion & some disc herniations. In addition, it provides a stretch to low back musculature and counteracts the compression that is placed upon your body throughout the day. Active Release Techniques - a soft tissue approach that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. It is a hands on therapy that corrects muscular and other soft tissues problems that are caused by the formation of adhesive tissues that are laid down due to overuse or cumulative trauma. Physiotherapy - we provide several therapy modalities at our facility, such as, electrical muscle stimulation, heat/ice therapy, ultrasound, and traction tables. Corrective Exercises - we teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your treatment by as much as 30-40%. Kinesio Taping - a therapeutic taping method that utilizes a latex free elastic tape. Whereas most athletic tape is stiff and is used to hold muscles or joints in one position, kinesio tape is stretchy to support muscles during movement, improve circulation of blood, and correct joint movement. Although this treatment technique has gained its popularity as a result of the olympics, it is just as beneficial for everyday people, with everyday activities. Spinal and Postural Screenings - Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being.
